Co-produced by Resul, the film is being screened at the 43rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

"It is my first production and I am very proud of the project. Besides producing I have given music for the movie. There is a lot of young talent which requires platform and unfortunately in our country independent cinema is not given that much importance," said Resul.

"ID" is directed by debutante Kamal KM, who has earlier assisted filmmaker Santosh Sivan.

Resul, 40, feels everyone should have the liberty to make the kind of cinema they want and it should be accessible to different audience.

"You always want to make something without compromising on the cinematic elements. We have tried to do that. I also feel multiplexes are killing single screens which makes it difficult for independent movies to survive. That scenario needs to be changed," said Resul, who won an Academy Award for best sound mixing for "Slumdog Millionaire" in 2009.

Resul designs sound for Hollywood, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam films. His work includes "RaOne" and "Musafir".
