Former chief secretary Rajive Kumar has been appointed the new full-time chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UPRERA), according to an official notification.
Kumar, who superannuated on June 30, was appointed by the Uttar Pradesh government yesterday, the notification issued late last night said.
He replaces Nitin Ramesh Gokarn, who is also the principal secretary, housing.
The state government appointed former bureaucrats Kalpana Mishra, Bhanu Pratap Singh and Balvinder Kumar as members of the UPRERA.
The Authority came into force on May 1, 2017, but the state government was unable to appoint a full-time chairman and members on the real-estate watchdog body more than a year after it was established.
