A retired professor was allegedly beaten to death by his relatives in Nuawan village here over old enmity, police said today.
Jwala Prasad Mishra (65), who retired as Professor from Firoz Ghandhi College in Raebareli three years back and was residing in his native village, they said.
Yesterday Mishra was allegedly attacked by his relatives with sticks injuring him seriously. He was rushed to the hospital where he died during treatment, police said.
An FIR has been lodged against three persons, Vijay Kumar Mishra, Shri Praksh Mishra and Hansraj Mishra, all residents of the same village and investigation was underway, they added.
