Rev Pream Prakash Habil is Agra Diocese Bishop

Rev Pream Prakash Habil has been elected as the Bishop of Agra Diocese of the Church of North India to succeed Samuel Rajkumar Cutting, who passed away after a heart attack.

57-year-old Rev Habil, who got 16 out of total 20 votes of the electoral board, will be ordained Bishop at St George's Cathedral in the city on September 29, according to the Diocese office.

Rev Habil, who was secretary of the Agra Diocese, will be the fifth Bishop of the Church of North India, which was formed from the old Anglican Church and a few other churches.

Samuel Rajkumar Cutting had died of heart attack in a hospital here on May 8, months before his retirement in November this year.
 

Agra Diocese, which looks after the whole of western UP and Uttarakhand, has some 70 churches, four hospitals, three postgraduate colleges and over fifty schools and intermediate colleges under its care, as also cemeteries formerly own and looked after by the Anglican Church.
