A revenue inspector was arrested by vigilance sleuths for allegedly taking Rs 3,000 as bribe from a man to submit enquiry report required for a land holding certificate in Kandhamal district, vigilance release said.
Vigilance officers laid a trap yesterday and caught Sanjaya Kumar Sahu, revenue inspector in Sankarakhola Revenue Circle while accepting the bribe money from the complainant, it said.
The inspector had demanded Rs 3,000 from Subala Kumar Mallick of village Kambrikia to submit enquiry report regarding land holding certificate in favour of his father, it said.
In a similar case, Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI) Jogeswar Mohananda in Kaudiamunda Revenue Circle under Binka Tahsil in Subarnapur district was arrested yesterday for allegedly accepting Rs.2,000 from a man for issuance of fresh land revenue receipt in respect of the land purchased by him, the release said.
