Revenue officer caught in graft case

A village revenue officer was arrested in Ferozepur district by Punjab Vigilance Bureau officials today while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000 for issuing a land ownership document.

Tejinderpal Singh, a revenue official posted in the district, demanded the bribe amount from Joginder Singh in lieu of issuing him the document, Sursh Arora, chief director-cum-DGP, Vigilance Bureau said.

Acting on his complaint, a trap was laid and accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.

A case has ben registered while the further probes are on, the official added.
