The Government has initiated the process of reviewing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed between India and foreign countries as part of the "ongoing exercise", Rajya Sabha was told today.
"It is understood that the Cabinet Secretariat is in the process of reviewing MoUs signed by the Government of India with foreign countries in consultation with line ministries. As far as the Ministry of External Affairs is concerned, reviewing of MoUs is an ongoing exercise," Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh said in a written reply.
His remarks came in response to a question by Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut on whether Government is preparing to review the ineffective MoUs signed by the country with various nations.
