A petition was today filed in the Madas High Court seeking a review of the order making wearing of helmets mandatory for two-wheeler riders.
Advocate R Muthukrishnan filed the review petition alleging that the order suffered from several anomalies.
The judgment was legally wrong as it was not in accordance with the relevant provisions of Code of Civil Procedure (CPC), he alleged.

The directions to the state government to enforce the rule "suffered from mistake or error as it created an Emergency-like situation in the mind of 1.5 crore two-wheeler users in the state." The cancellation of license and impounding of vehicle was against the fundamental rights as enshrined in the Constitution, the petition said.
Justice N Kirubakaran, who ordered wearing of helmets compulsory for two-wheeler riders from July one, reserved orders on the petition.
