TNCC president E V K S Elangovan today said the revival of Tamil Maanila Congress by former Union Minister G K Vasan would not have any impact on the Congress.
"The revival of Tamil Maanila Congress will not have any impact on the Congress," he told reporters here.
On Nov 28 Vasan had formally launched his new political party Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar).

He had quit Congress on Nov 3, alleging that state units were being ignored by the high command and poor management of party affairs by some top leaders at Delhi. He had then announced to float a new regional party that would "fulfil the aspirations" of people of Tamil Nadu.
Asked about the entry of actor politican Kushboo to the Congress, Elangovan said she would propagate the party ideology and take it to every nook and corner of Tamil Nadu.
On the party's plan for the 2016 Assembly elections, he said "it will be decided at that time". He claimed that none would be able to form a government in Tamil Nadu without Congress support.
Elangovan alleged that attacks and arrests on fishermen by Sri Lankan naval personnel have become routine of late and demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi find a permanent solution to the vexed issue.
On the black money issue, he said it appeared that the NDA government had not taken any steps to get it back from other countries, though they had assured they would do so.
