Revolver, mobile phone and cash stolen from parked vehicles

Two vehicles were broken open by unknown miscreants who allegedly stole a USA manufactured Smith & Wesson revolver along with some rounds, as well as another revolver, a mobile phone and cash worth Rs 15,000, totally valued at Rs 5.30 lakh, the police said here today.

Police sub-inspector R B Gholap of the Rabodi police station told PTI that Bhiwandi resident Prashant Purushottam Patil (33), had come down to Thane along with his friend Indrapal Mahadeo Patil, after which they parked their cars in front of World Gym.

When they returned, they found that the glasses of their cars were broken and their belongings were stolen, the police said.
 

The police has registered an offence under Sections 379 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code against unknown persons and a hunt is on for them, the police said.
