Uttar Pradesh government today announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh to anyone giving information about the criminal who escaped from police custody and looted two AK-47 rifles from the police force in Baghpat district.
Amit alias Bhura, who was lodged in Dehradun jail, drugged the accompanying policemen and escaped in an auto with the help of his aides while being taken to the court and also looted two AK-47 rifles and a SLR (self-loading rifle) of the cops.
"A reward of Rs five lakh will be declared on Bhura. Besides, an FIR has been registered against 15 persons including Bhura, Head Constable Gangaram and four constables identified as Ilamchand, Dharmendra, Ravindra, and Pradeep Mathur," IG law and order, A Satish Ganesh told reporters here.
"ADG, Law and order Mukul Goel today visited Baghpat to take stock of the situation," Ganesh said, adding, teams of Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have been deployed and Delhi and Haryana police are also in touch in connection with Bhura's arrest.
