The carcass of a rhino
was recovered by forest guards inside the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam's Morigaon district today.
Forest officials said the rhino, which was an adult male, died of old age ailments and it was not an incident of poaching.

Guards on patrol duty near the Putolibari camp inside the sanctuary found the carcass intact at around 9 AM and the horn had not been removed.
The carcass has been sent for post-mortem, officials added.
