Rhino horn recovered from house in Jorhat

A rhino horn, weighing more than 2.5 kgs, was recovered from the garden of a private residence in Jorhat district today, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, Jorhat Superintendent of Police Sanjukta Parashar led a team and recovered the horn from the residence of a man at Holongapara Gohaingaon under Ladoigarh outpost here.

Apart from the rhino horn, worth more than Rs 25 lakh, two live cartridges of a rifle were also seized, they said, adding that the house owner is absconding.
