Rice basmati prices firmed up by Rs 100 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale grains market today on pick up in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing belts.
However, other grains held steady in thin trade.
Traders said besides pick up in demand from retailers, fall in supplies from producing regions, mainly helped rice basmati prices to trade higher.

In the national capital, rice basmati Pusa-1121 variety rose by Rs 100 to Rs 5,600-5,650 per quintal.
