Prices of rice basmati eased at the wholesale market today following adequate supplies from producing belts against reduced offtake by stockists.

Wheat also edged lower due to weak demand from flour mills against sufficient stocks.

Traders said besides reduced offtake by stockists and flour mills, adequate stocks on increased arrivals from producing belts mainly pulled down rice basmati prices.

In the national capital, common and Pusa-1121 variety eased to Rs 6,500-7,000 and Rs 5,000-6,000 against last close of Rs 7000-7,500 and Rs 5,150-6,100 per quintal, respectively.
