Rice basmati prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today owing to slackened demand from stockists and exporters against sufficient supplies from producing belts.

However, other grains settled around previous levels after moving in a narrow range in scattered deals.

Traders said adequate stocks position in the market following increased supplies from producing belts against sluggish demand from stockists and exporters mainly kept pressure on rice basmati prices.
