Rice basmati prices firmed by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today following scattered buying by stockists against restricted supplies from producing belts.

However, other grains continued to trade in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said some buying support from stockists against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly helped rice basmati prices to trade higher.

In the national capital, rice basmati Pusa-1121 variety rose by Rs 100 to Rs 4,000-5,200, while rice basmati common held steady at Rs 5,000-5,200 per quintal respectively.
