Rice basmati prices rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on restricted supplies from producing regions against rising demand.
However, maize ended lower on sufficient stocks against reduced offtake by consuming industries.
Traders said besides uptick in demand from retailers, fall in supplies from producing belts mainly kept rice basmati prices higher.
