Rich haul of charas smuggled from Nepal seized

Sahastra Seema Suraksha Bal jawans recovered 42 kg of Charas being smuggled into India from Nepal at Inarwa village of Bihar's East Champaran district.

The seizure was made late last night near pillar number 419 on Indo-Nepal border in East Champaran district, SSB Commandant Rajesh Tikku said today.

Acting on a tip-off, personnel of the 44th battalion of SSB spotted a few people trying to sneek into India with charas kept in plastic bag weighing 42 kg, the SSB commandant said.

Seeing the security personnel, the smugglers threw the bag and retreated to Nepal taking advantge of darkness of the night, he said.
 

The commandant said that seized charas valued at Rs 6.30 crore in the international market as every kg of charas carries a price of Rs 15 lakh.
