The 25-year-old actress will be seen in the Indian league of the international film series which will be shot in Mumbai.
The series comprises of many short stories set across the globe and includes other star performers like Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley.
"It's a great opportunity for me to work with such an experienced filmmaker. She is so humble and intelligent. She treats every actor with respect. She has co-written the film with Zoya Akhtar. I feel proud to be a part of it," Richa told PTI.
The Delhi-born actress had bagged the offer before "Gangs of Wasseypur" and said Mira, known for films like "Monsoon Wedding" and "The Namesake", called her up to congratulate her on the film's success.
"I got the offer before 'Gangs of Wasseypur' through a casting director. But the shooting will start now. It will be shot in Mumbai this monsoon. Mira tole me that she really liked my performance in 'Gangs...'," she added.
The Indian league of the short film is a quirky take on the numerous problems and prejudices in the society.

The actress, who recently attended Cannes Film festival for the screening of "Gangs of Wasseypur", said she wants to be a part of global cinema.
"I am very hopeful. It's immensely interesting when a filmmaker from overseas approaches you. I don't want to say that I will give preference to international films. I am open to do any film which will help me broaden my horizon as an actress," she added.
