Richards told me about self belief and confidence: Unmukt

Promising batsman Unmukt Chand is hoping to reap the rewards of the lessons he has learnt from legendary West Indian batsman Vivian Richards who on the importance of "self belief and confidence" to the Delhi boy.

"I spoke to him (Richards) and he stressed on the importance of self belief and confidence. I am trying to focus on what he has said. Hope it will help me in the coming season," Unmukt said.

The Delhi Daredevils, for whom Chand plays in the IPL, had named Richards as the team's ambassador during the last edition of the cash-rich Twenty20 league.

Admitting that the last IPL was not good for him, Unmukt said he is now trying to focus on the upcoming Asian Cricket Council Emerging tournament, to be held in Singapore from August 17-25.
 

"I am trying to concentrate on the upcoming tournament. I am going step by step and not thinking about my chances of making the senior team."

The matches will be played at Kallang Cricket Ground and Singapore Cricket Ground from August 17-25. India's first match will be against neighbours Pakistan on August 18, after which they will face Nepal on August 20 and Afghanistan on August 22. The final will be played on August 25.

Talking about his upcoming autobiography, Unmukt said it will hit the stands by the end of this year.
