Press Trust of India Bhopal
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today demanded that Right to Health be made a fundamental right.

"Right to Health should be included in the fundamental rights (in the Constitution)," Chouhan said after inaugurating a hospital here.

Chouhan said Madhya Pradesh should have medical institutions with all facilities available, so that people need not travel outside the state for treatment.

His government had chalked out a policy for enhancing healthcare facilities with the participation of the private sector, he added.

Medical tourism was being given a boost in the state, he said while calling on the private sector to extend help in the implementation of government schemes for the poor.

State Health Minister Dr Narottam Mishra said the government was committed to provide healthcare facilities free to the poor.
