Singer Rihanna has cancelled her scheduled concert at the Allianz Stadium in Nice, France in the wake of the truck attack during Bastille Day fireworks.

The show, which was part of her "Anti World Tour", was originally set for Friday.

The Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, announced on Twitter the cancellations of Rihanna's show as well as other social events that were planned to take place in the city on Friday.

He wrote, "Tomorrow the flags of the city will be at half mast. After the cancellation of the Rihanna concert, jazz festival is cancelled."

The singer herself was in the city when the terror attack occurred, but her representative has confirmed that "she is safe. She is ok."

Rihanna, 28, later took to Instagram to express her sympathy for the victims' families.

"Due to the tragic events in #Nice, my concert scheduled for tomorrow July 15 at Allianz Stadium will not be going ahead as planned. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families," she posted along with a hears painted in the colour of the French flag.
