R&B superstar Rihanna is finally getting her own documentary with Peter Berg serving as director of the film.

According to Film 45's website, which is producing the short film, the untitled Rihanna documentary will follow the "true international superstar as she navigates life as an artist, businesswoman, and humanitarian, while contending with the inherent pressure of artistic freedom", reported Deadline.

It's further described as "unfiltered look into Rihanna's life and how she's ascended to become a global icon, providing a glimpse into the evolution of one of the world's most well-known pop artists."

Rihanna's film is a contemporary take on the 1967 Bob Dylan documentary "Don't Look Back".

Berg said that he's interested in exploring "a young artist at the top of her professional field" and the movie would be "much more a character study than a music film."

The Rihanna documentary is yet to have an official release date.

Berg, who previously directed the Bajan singer in "Battleship", recently teased their upcoming project with a black-and-white photo he shared on Instagram.

"This girl RiRi she's not bad. See I'm smiling I ain't mad," he captioned the snap of him smiling while posing next to the 28-year-old singer.
