Union Minister Kiren Rijiju today urged the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam to maintain amity and peace and said any disturbances triggered by any organisation or individual in the inter-state boundary should not be given another spin or twist.
Inaugurating a newly constructed police station at Tarasso in Papumpare district, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs said that the people of both neighbouring states have been maintaining good relations since time immemorial, an official release said.
Rijiju, who was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Food Processing & Industry Sadhni Niranjan Jyoti, said the police station has been the long standing demand of the people of Tarasso.

He said that there are numerous places in Arunachal Pradesh where road connectivity is required and Tarasso is one of such areas where it is very poor.
"The development of the area cannot be possible without proper road connectivity," he pointed out and urged the state government to take up land acquisition for construction of proper connectivity.
Jyoti, while addressing the gathering stated that Arunachal is a gifted place in terms of beauty and the people.
"The state is having tremendous scope for development of food processing industry," she said and urged the state government to take immediate steps in this direction.
State Home Minister Kumar Waii and UD, Law and Justice Minister Nabam Rebia who accompanied the union ministers, also spoke on the occasion, the release added.
