RIL up 4%;mcap zooms to record Rs5.5 lk cr ahead of Q2 results

Shares of Reliance Industries jumped nearly 4 per cent today to their one-year high ahead of the firm's quarterly earnings announcement tomorrow.

The company's market valuation zoomed by Rs 20,328.1 crore to Rs 5,52,515.10 crore -- the highest ever of any listed company in the country.

The stock rose by 3.82 per cent to close at Rs 872.50 on BSE. Intra-day, it soared 4.25 per cent to Rs 876.20.

The stock of RIL, the most valued company of the country, was the biggest gainer among the 30-share Sensex components.

At NSE, shares of the company rose by 3.88 per cent to end at Rs 872.75.
 

In terms of equity volume, 6.32 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 85 lakh shares changed hands at NSE during the day.

Rally in the stock was instrumental in sending the 30- share key Sensex index higher by 348.23 points or 1.09 per cent to 32,182.22.
