Rise in prices of select commodites

After two weeks' of lull, prices of moong dal,gram dal,sugar and wheat increased while prices of rest of commodities ruled steady in the in the wholesale foodgrain market here today.

On the opening day moong dal was up by Rs.100 per quintal to Rs.7,000 from Rs.6,900.

Gram dal moved to Rs.7,200 from Rs.7,000 an increase of Rs.200 per quintal.

Sugar was up by Rs.100 per quintal to Rs.4,200 from Rs.4,100.

Wheat gained by Rs.200 per quintal to Rs.2,700 from Rs.2,500.

Prices of thoor dal, urad dal, maida(90 kg) and sooji (90 kg) ruled steady on the opening day.

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri-commodities (rates in rupees per quintal, unless stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 6,800, Urad Dal Rs 8,400, Moong Dal Rs 7,000, Gram Dal Rs 7,200, Sugar Rs 4,200, Wheat Rs 2,700, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,600 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 3,200.
