Rise in prices of select commodities

The prices of Urad dal, moong dal, gram dal, maida (90 kg) and Sooji(90 kg) increased while that of sugar declined in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

Urad dal, moong dal, and gram dal opened at Rs.8,400, Rs. 9,500 and Rs.3.900 an increase of Rs.100 per quintal from its closing rates of Rs.8,300, Rs.9,400 and Rs.3,800 respectively.

Maida (90kg) opened the week at Rs.2,600, an increase of Rs.150 from Rs.2,450.

Sooji price rose by Rs.50 to Rs.2,700 from Rs.2,650.

Sugar declined marginally by Rs.30 per quintal to Rs.3,150 from its previous rate of Rs.3,180.

Thoor dal and wheat prices ruled steady. Following are the wholesale rates of various agri- commodities (in Rs per quintal, except where stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 7,900, Urad Dal Rs 8,400 Moong Dal Rs 9,500, Gram Dal Rs 3,900, Sugar Rs 3,150, Wheat Rs 2,600, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,600 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 2,700.
