Rising demand lifts mentha oil futures by 0.35%

Amid pick up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices were up by 0.35 per cent to Rs 899 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October month moved up by 3.10, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 899 per kg in business turnover of 245 lots.

In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in September contracts edged up by Rs 2, or 0.23 per cent to Rs 888.20 per kg in 63 lots.

Analysts said besides pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, led to the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
