Filmmaker Nagraj Manjule's "Sairat" is not only garnering critical acclaim and box office collection, but has also found an admirer in Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh.

The "Ek Villain" star said it is a moment of happiness that the latest Marathi movie, which chronicles the life of a low caste boy falling in love with an upper caste girl, is running to packed shows all over.

"All the shows of 'Sairat' are going houseful everywhere, for that I am extremely happy and everyone is proud. I feel the more regional cinema does good, the better. Any cinema which is good makes everyone happy when it does good business," the actor said at an event here last night.

"Sairat", which released on April 29, has been getting a lot of critical acclaim for the portrayal of the relationship between two young kids, who face several challenges before eloping the village.

The film is Manjule's second feature movie, after "Fandry" in 2014 which went on to bag the 61st National Film Award for 'Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of a Director'.

Riteish will be next seen in "Housefull 3".
