Mid-fielder Ritu Rani today achieved a memorable milestone by earning her 200th International cap while leading the Indian women hockey team against Poland in the Finals of Hero FIH World League Round 2 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.
The 23-year old Ritu emerged from the Shahbad region in Haryana. From scoring goals for her side from the upfront to controlling midfield, she does it all with sheer perfection.
"I am honoured to have been able to give my contribution to Indian hockey. It's a great feeling and I hope to continue adding more to the sport with full zest and determination. I hope our efforts encourage more young girls to take up hockey," Ritu said.
Congratulating Ritu Rani on her astounding performance, Secretary General Hockey India Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad said, "Hockey India takes utmost pride in congratulating Ritu Rani on the accomplishment of 200 international caps.
