RJD MLA injured in scuffle

RJD MLA Surendra Yadav was injured in a scuffle with some shop keepers in Gaya district tonight, police said.

The incident happened when the body guard of the MLA from Belaganj in Gaya district allegedly beat up a seller of 'tilkut' (sweets) in Tekari Road for delay in handing over the sweet to the MLA, Senior Superintendent of Police Nishant Kumar Tiwari said.

Local shop keepers gathered in support of the 'tilkut' seller and beat up the MLA. Some of them even threw boiling cooking oil on him, the SSP said.

The MLA has been taken to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital with serious burn injuries, the SSP said.
 

The 'tilkut' seller has lodged an FIR against the RJD MLA with the Kotwali police station, the SSP said.

Surendra Yadav has served as minister in RJD governments of Lalu Prasad as well as Rabri Devi.
