RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has launched a drive against doctors accusing them of charging "exorbitant" fees forcing the Indian Medical Association to condemn his "extra constitutional" action.
"An MBBS doctor shall charge Rs 100-150, an MD Rs 200-225 and experienced doctors Rs 300," Yadav told PTI over phone from Saharsa, where he organised 'Nukkad Natak' (street theatre) on the issue today.
Coming harsh on "money making" spirit of doctors in the state, he questioned why doctors were charging Rs 1,200-1,400 for ultrasound when it could be done at Rs 80 in a government hospital?
