RMPI floated by leftist leaders

The Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI) was formed today in a meeting of leftist leaders from across India here, said Marxist Communist Party, Punjab in-charge Mangat Ram Pasla.

Pasla said it will be soon registered with the Election Commission of India (ECI).

"The party will be headed by a 23-member central committee," he said, adding he has been selected as the general secretary.

The central committee comprises of four members each from Punjab, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, three from Maharashtra, two from Haryana, he said.

Seats have been reserved for Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Delhi. These will be filled up soon, he said.
