Fourteen persons, including cadres and linkmen of Rabha National Liberation Front, were arrested for their alleged involvement in planting of an IED bomb on a rail track in Goalpara district.
According to Goalpara Additional Superintendent of Police Rosie Kalita, a massive combat operation was launched at various places under Krishnai police station since last night after getting information on a tip-off.
"In the operation, we have arrested 14 persons, including some cadres of RNLF and some linkmen. It is suspected that the bomb was planted by RNLF," she said.
The police picked up the persons from Bhogdabili, Guria and Zira in the district and interrogation is on, Kalita said.
On Friday, a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found amidst stones between rail tracks by patrolling railway police at Barigaon under Dudhnoi police station.
