The National Green Tribunal has directed Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) to file its response within two weeks on an NGO's plea alleging that it was using the Reverse Osmosis-treated (RO) drinking water for maintaining the Feroz Shah Kotla ground.
A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar passed the order after the lawyer, appearing for DDCA, refuted the allegations that it was using RO water.
"Let reply be filed within two weeks," the bench said while posting the matter for next hearing on August 10.

"Every drop that flows out of DDCA's taps is RO treated, whether it is for cleaning utensils or toilets. At a time when many states are facing drought, it's very disturbing that DDCA is using water in such a manner," the plea had said.
It also alleged that power discom Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL) which has installed RO water plants in 31 educational institutions, was wasting groundwater through these plants to the tune of around 750 litres of water an hour.
The green panel had, thereafter, issued notices to DDCA, Delhi Jal Board and Tata Power Delhi Distribution on the plea of the NGO.
