Two persons were killed and five others injured when a bus rammed into a tractor, triggering protests by locals who set ablaze another bus and attacked police in Bihar's Nalanda district today.
The bus rammed into a tractor, killing a woman and a girl on the spot and injuring five near Gosain Math, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shamsh Afroz said.
Soon a strong crowd of local people blocked the NH-30 and set another bus on fire after forcing out its passengers to protest rash driving by bus drivers.
The protesters also attacked with stones a posse of policemen when they reached the spot to pacify them. Reinforcements had been sent to the area in view of the situation, the DSP said.
