Five pilgrim including two women were killed, while others were injured after a four-wheeler in they were travelling, rammed into a stationary milk van in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh today, a police official said.
The incident occurred near Korisapadu at around 1 pm when a group of 15 pilgrims travelling from Gajuwaka area of Visakhapatnam city were proceeding to Tirumala, Addanki police circle inspector Prasad said.
Their four-wheeler hit the van from the rear resulting in the death of two people on the spot, while three others succumbed to their injuries at a hospital, Addanki Circle Inspector Prasad said.
"The deceased include a newly married woman. Ten others who suffered injuries were rushed to a nearby hospital," he said, adding that further investigations are on.
