Road rage: Bizman thrashed by drunken trio in Rohini

A 26-year-old businessman was allegedly assaulted by three drunken men in a road rage case in the Rohini area of outer Delhi, police said.

According to police, in the incident which took place last night in Sector 6 of Rohini, one Amarjeet Chopra was thrashed by the trio, who also misbehaved with his parents.

"As Chopra, who was driving, reached a traffic signal, his Wagon R car hit a Swift Dzire car from behind which was waiting for the signal to change," a senior officer said.

Infuriated over the knock from behind, the men sitting inside the other car got out and started abusing Chopra. The spat turned violent and they started hitting Chopra.
 

Police said that the victim has complained that he was hit with a rod and also punched several times in the face. He also alleged that his parents, who were sitting in the rear seat, too, were misbehaved with when they resisted the attack on him.

After thrashing Chopra, the trio fled the scene while the injured businessman was taken to a hospital and police was informed.

Police said they have arrested an accused, identified as Mayank (23), while a manhunt is on to nab the others.

"Mayank works at a private company. He was arrested from his house in Rohini Sector 5. The other two accused have been identified... A case under the relevant sections has been registered at Rohini South police station," a senior officer said.

A 38-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death in front of his minor sons in central Delhi's Turkman Gate area in a road rage case last month. Md Shahnawaz, the victim, was attacked by the occupants of a car after his bike grazed their vehicle. Police have arrested all the five accused in the case.
