Road rage in Churu claims auto-rickshaw driver's life

In a case of road rage in Churu district, a 36-year-old auto-rickshaw driver died after he was hit on the head with a brick by another commuter even as other passersby remained mute spectators.

A video of the incident was caught by a CCTV installed in the Ghantaghar area of Sardar Shahar town, showing the autorickshaw driver Mushtaq Niwaria and milkman Hiralal Jat, who was riding a bike, indulging in a fist fight.

The video, that went viral online, showed Niwaria attacking Jat with a screwdriver. In retaliation, Jat hit Niwaria with a brick on his head.

Sardar Shahar police have arrested the milkman for murder of Niwaria.
 

"The incident had happened on Saturday when the duo indulged into an altercation over getting a side on road. The altercation resulted into a major brawl when the Niwaria attacked Jat with a screwdriver. In retaliation, Jat hit Niwaria with a brick on his head," investigating officer in the case Balwant Singh told PTI.

Niwaria was referred to a hospital in Bikaner where he died on Sunday, he added.
