In a case of road rage, a man was severely assaulted by a group of motorists here today.
Police said the victim, Shiv Kumar, who sustained head injury, was admitted to a hospital where doctors declared his condition to be stable.
The incident took place when Kumar was driving his car from Ghodi Bachheda to Dadri. While near Payal Cinema on Railway Road, his car was caught in a traffic jam.
Soon after, cars from behind started honking seeking passage. As Kumar failed to move his car to allow passage, two men came out from their cars and thrashed him.
Kumar's son Preet Sharma lodged an FIR against three persons, Dadri police station in-charge Ram Kumar Malik said, adding that an investigation is on into the case.
