International road shows conducted by the Tamil Nadu government for its two-day Global Investors Meet, to be held here from May 24, have received 'overwhelming' response.

"Industries department conducted two legs of International road shows so far and received overwhelming response," a state government release said today.

Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet-2015, pegged to be the biggest investor promotion campaign undertaken by the state government, promises to enhance the ancillaries and industrial vendor sector that serves as backbone of industrial investment, it said.

"More than 5,000 national and international delegates are expected to participate in the event and products and services of over 250 exhibitors and partner nations will be displayed," it said.

Officials said roadshows were conducted in Germany, France, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Stating that the registrations for the event would conclude on April 25, the release said, "the Government undertook roadshows in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and New Delhi".

"It is also conducting further road shows in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune and Kolkata as well as five locations in Tamil Nadu so as to interact with the domestic investors and explore the potential of expansion in Tamil Nadu", it said.

The government has allocated Rs 100 crore for conducting the event, projected as a key initiative taken up by the AIADMK Government to attract investment.

Companies participating in the event can get space free of cost, it said.
