Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi, who called on Khampheng Saysompheng, Governor of Luang Prabang province of Lao PDR at Luang Prabang city, discussed various issues of biltaeral interest including promotion of Buddhist heritage curcuit.
Luang Prabang city is known for its Buddhist heritage which is situated in North Central Lao PDR.
According to an official release, it was mutually agreed to have road shows in both the countries to promote tourism bilaterally. The urgent need for the air connectivity between Luang Prabang and India was also underlined in the meeting.
Chiranjeevi invited the Governor of Luang Prabang to attend the conference on Sustainable Tourism coinciding with the Joint Regional Conference of UNWTO to be held at Hyderabad on April 12 and 13.
Chiranjeevi is currently on a visit to Lao PDR to attend Indo-Asean Tourism Ministers summit.
