Road signages in Delhi having Muslim names blackened: NDMC

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) today said some of its road signages having Muslim names have been blackened allegedly by a right-wing group and that it has filed a complaint with the police about it.

"Some of our road signages featuring name of roads such as Safdar Hashmi Marg and Feroz Shah road have been blackened by members of a right-wing outfit.

"They have have written abusive remarks and pasted their party's sticker on the signages" an NDMC spokesperson said.

He said NDMC has already filed a complaint with the police and an FIR is being registered in the case.
 

He said the road signages at the Aurangzeb Road and Akbar Road have also been blackened.

"We are replacing the damaged signages," the spokesperson said.
