Roadmap to aware urban population about e-Governance

The Punjab government has laid down a roadmap to aware the people living in urban centres about the e-Governance scheme introduced in the state.

The government has successfully implemented e-Governance delivery system in state municipalities, corporations and nagar panchayats and people need to be sensitised about it, Minster for Local Bodies Chunni Lal Bhagat said.

"The Punjab Government has decided to further sensitise the urban population about the high merits of e-Governance delivery system through conducing seminars across the state," he said.

The e-Governance project aims at providing various day to day services to the urban population in transparent and hassle-free manner, he said.
 

As many as 162 services are being delivered under this project and 30 lakh people of the state are availing the services sitting in their homes, he said, adding residents can get birth and death certificates, bills of water and sewerage, and NOCs etc using Internet at home.
