The accused, Sanjeev Kumar alias Baba, a resident of Lajpat Nagar-II in the capital, was arrested on Tuesday, a senior police official said.
Kumar was wanted in more than 30 cases including robbery, dacoity and burglary. He had been absconding since the last five years and had been declared proclaimed offender in most of the cases, said Ajay Chaudhary DCP South East district.
He had escaped from the custody of Maharashtra Police in 2003 in case of a truck loot. Police had declared a reward on him. In 2004, he was again arrested and sent to jail after an encounter during which he had fired upon police.
After returning from jail he again got into criminal activities.
