Robbers arrested in Nagaland

Richard Warjri alias Bah Hep of Nongrah locality in the outskirt of Shillong and Jester Jyrwa of Sumer village in Ri-Bhoi district, were arrested from a house in which they were hiding in Kohima, they said.

Acting on a tip off, Meghalaya Police gave specific inputs to Nagaland Police who swung into action and netted the duo.

Cash was also recovered from their possession,the police said.

Five persons were earlier arrested in the city for their involvement in robbing Central Bank of India officials on Tuesday last and more than Rs 32 lakh were recovered from their possession.

The five arrested were involved in relieving two Central bank employees of Rs 42 lakh in Police Bazaar area of the city after throwing chilli powder in their eyes.
