Robbers decamp with Rs 7 lakh from a parked car

Two motorcycle-borne robbers today decamped with a bag containing Rs 7 lakh in cash after breaking the windowpanes of a car parked in an administrative complex here.

In his complaint, NRI Angrej Singh said that he withdrew the cash from an SBI branch on Amritsar road and came to the nearby administrative complex for the registration of deed of a house.

After parking the vehicle, he went to meet a deed writer and when he returned, he found that the windowpanes of his car were broken and the bag containing the money was missing.

Police said two youths followed Angrej Singh after he withdrew the cash from the bank and when he left his car in the complex, they broke the windowpanes and sped away with the money.
 

A case has been registered in this regard and a manhunt has been launched, police said.
