A women bloc head and her two sons were injured when a gang of robbers allegedly broke into their house in Goverdhan area and decamped with valuables worth Rs 15 lakh, police said here today.

The dacoity took place in the house of Harnandi Devi, the Samajwadi Party block Pramukh of Goverdhan, in Pali Dungara under Magorra police station last mid-night, police said.

Over a dozen robbers entered her house after climbing the wall. They hit Harnandi on her head with a iron rod, when she questioned their identity.

Hearing their mother's cry, Harender and Bipin rushed her rescue. The robbers then fired at the duo.

They got hold of cupboard keys and looted cash as well as ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh, before fleeing the spot, police said.

Those injured were first rushed district hospital and later shifted to a private hospital. The bullets have been recovered from Harender and Bipin's bodies and their condition was stated to be stable, Harnandi's elder son Pitam Singh said.

Meanwhile, four teams led by SP City Shailesh Pandey have been formed to nab the robbers, who are believed to be from Rajasthan and other districts of UP, SSP Rakesh Singh said.

One team has been sent to Bulandshahar, other to Rajasthan. The remaining two teams will be looking out for the culprits in Mathura, the SSP said.
