Robbers loot cash, jewellery worth around Rs 63 lakh in Maha

A gang of robbers allegedly looted cash and jewellery worth around Rs 63 lakh from the house of a jeweller at Narhari Nagar in Ghoti, around 35 km from here, police said today.

Gold ornaments worth Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 62 lakh cash were looted from the house of one Kailas Dahale, when he along with his family members had gone out of town, Suresh Manore, in charge of Ghoti police station said.

The incident happened between January 19 and 22 and came to light today after Dahale returned, he said.

District Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Mohite along with senior police officials today visited the crime scene and efforts are on to nab the absconding accused, police said.
